Description: This is a TN-sized specimen of Bromargyrite from Broken Hill District Yancowinna County New South Wales Australia. The locality code for this location is MD235733 (MD=MinDat, all others are proprietary). The photograph is taken at 40x. Crystals vary in size from sub-microcrystalline to 2mm as shown in photo. There are usually additional crystals on other surfaces of the specimen, which the photograph does not show. All three halide anions (chloride, bromide and iodide) are usually present in varying percentages within each crystal. Identification of predominant anion is visual based on crystallography and color. The title reflects our best evaluation of the predominant anion. All mineral species identifications are visual unless otherwise indicated. If available, XRD and/or SEM analyses documentation will be noted and supplied.
