1/48 Apollo 11 Lunar Module Eagle-5 Aoshima #047491 Factory Sealed MISB

Description: I should clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! The Apollo 11 Lunar Landing was July 20, 1969, and this kit commemorates that milestone of American History and indeed, Human History. I was a kid on an Air Force Base in California when the landing happened. I remember my sisters and I got to stay up after bedtime to watch the moonwalk. We knew it was a big deal, but the monumental nature was largely lost on us. Aoshima put out their version of the Apollo Lunar Lander back in 1969 and this is the current incarnation of that kit. There are almost a dozen listings for this kit on eBay (in a variety of conditions), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is some of what I found out about this historic model: The Aoshima website no longer has a listing for this kit, so I assume it has been Discontinued or is Out of Production. From other sources, I found the following information about this veteran kit: Features: - 2 realistic astronaut figures - Module’s detailed interior remains visible with removable hull part- Detailed antennae and Reaction Control System (RCS) directional nozzles- Springs used in landing legs to provide realistic motion- Decals for instrument panel and module markings- Auxiliary lunar equipment provided for diorama purposes Scalemates.com has a listing that shows that this is a 2009 release based on the classic tooling from 1969 and provides a link to download the 6-page instruction set from a previous release. Unfortunately, there is very little useful information about the kit. This kit is in a wonderfully decorated box about 12” x 8” x 3.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the box is in very good shape with a small crease near one end and still sealed with tape strips, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete model of the Apollo11 “Eagle” Lunar Module with white plastic parts and four metal springs, along with decals and figures of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
