You are bidding on 15 ONE TO MANY PUMPKIN SEEDS - Cucurbita maxima . ( the last three pictures show the other kinds I have listed for sale ) This is a truly distinctive ornamental pumpkin that has great decorative potential. It can vary in shape from 75% round to a 25% flattened oblong shape. These small round to oblong fruits have a white background accented with midribs and stippled veins of red that looks like a bloodshot eyeball . The productive vines have good Powdery Mildew tolerance plus some virus tolerance. Growing Zones3 to 9 Light Requirements Full Sun Maturity 110 Spacing 8 feet Edible parts of : Fruit - cooked. A delicious flavor when baked, rather like a sweet potato. The flesh can be dried, ground into a powder and used with cereals in making bread, cakes etc. Some varieties can be stored for up to 9 months. Seed - raw or cooked. Rich in oil with a very pleasant nutty flavor but very fiddly to use because the seed is small and covered with a fibrous coat. The seed can also be ground into a powder and used with cereals in making breads etc. An oil is obtained from the seed. Young flowers - raw or cooked. They are often dipped in batter and fried. Young leaves and stems - cooked. The leaves contain up to 5% protein. Medicinal use of : The seeds are diuretic, tonic and vermifuge. The complete seed, together with the husk, is used as a vermifuge. This is ground into a fine flour, then made into an emulsion with water and eaten. It is then necessary to take a purgative afterwards in order to expel the tapeworms or other parasites from the body. As a remedy for internal parasites, the seeds are less potent than the root of Dryopteris felix-mas, but they are safer for pregnant women, debilitated patients and children. The oil from the seed is used as a nerve tonic. The fruit pulp is used as a soothing poultice on burns, inflammations and boils. Other uses of : The seed contains 34 - 54% of a semi-drying oil. Used for lighting. A nourishing face-mask can be made from the fruit that is effective for dry skins. See my store for 600+ seeds , live plants ( during the warmer months ) and over 300 books on plants and gardening ( when listed ). I add new items every day and combine shipping whenever possible .
