Description: This is a (1730-3)-Mo F Mexico 8 Reales Silver Cob from the 1735 Dutch East Indiaman Vliegenthart Shipwreck, sunk off Zeeland, Netherlands, NGC VF Details "Sea Salvaged" Philip V (25.57g) [Very Fine Details]. The first two images are provided by the NGC Photography Team and can be downloaded. The "F" refers to Felipe Rivas Angulo who was the official typical assayer for Mexican silver cobs salvaged from the 1733 Fleet as well as from the Dutch wrecks Vliegenthart (1735) and Rooswijk (1739). The cob itself is dateless according to the label, but portions of the date can be seen if it is angled under the right lighting. Personally, I think I can see 1732, but definitely 173(X) is visible. The shield is a little flat, but there are some solid details as well as a flatter but visible Mintmark and Assayer's mark. The left quadrants of the cross are visible, but it is a bit flat. There are bits of yellowish gold tone and some darker bits of corrosion from the saltwater. This coin comes in the NGC plastic slab with the special blue "Shipwreck Certification" label. Please use your own best judgement to determine the grade/quality of the coin and see each picture before purchasing! **NOTE: The coin pictured is the one you will receive. Please keep in mind that the coin was photographed at DIFFERENT ANGLES under the same FLUORESCENT light in order to showcase the coin's quality and uniqueness.
