Description: 1789 Solid Sterling Silver Samovar John Robins Tea Coffee Hot Water Urn 3.8kg Rams Head. This is a huge samovar measuring 18 1/2" tall by 10"W by 12 1/2"D weighing approximately 3830 grams of solid sterling silver. The only other example I found is in the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art (see last two photos), and that one is smaller. This extraordinary samovar is a once in a lifetime opportunity. All pieces are original and have matching hallmarks, including the oil burner. No monograms or inscriptions. Some restoration needed: The ivory spigot valve handle is missing, the finial is slightly tilted, the interior rim of the lid needs straightening. There are some light surface scratches which can be polished out. Maker: John Robins, London England. Shipping to USA, Canada, France, and Great Britain. Questions are welcome. Thank you for viewing
