Description: As much as these two pence coins are completely impractical as a currency coin they fit into history of industrial Britain beautifully. The mining of copper in the south west the smelting of copper in Wales and the advent of steam pressing at the SOHO Mint in Birmingham. Books are written on Matthew Boulton and James Watt's famous soho industrial complex . I have dozens far too many but few have solid edges without much or any damage. I think personally the design of britannia is the most beautifully rendered representation. It just makes sense the ship is travelling in the distance from west to east and Britannia sits in a very natural pose on the rocks. Well this is just my opinion . Designed by Kutcher for soho mint. The obverse George iii portrait is also iconic. I will list many over the next few weeks . This one shows a fraction of a rusty die and a tiny bump on the reverse at 12 o'clock.
