A nice example of an Early American Imprint (before 1820) and a culturally and historically significant work. Lindley Murray was an American Quaker lawyer and grammarian. His works are among the early texts written by Americans that began to displace long-used texts from Britain, and in fact his English Grammar became very popular in England as well as in the United States.
