Smith & Hawksley's was in business in Sheffield, England from 1845-64. The razor's tang is marked, "Smith & Hawksley's, Celebrated Razor, Sheffield." The blade shows minor evidence of hone wear. There are no nicks in the blade, and it's free of any cracks. The blade has a 2 3/4 inch cutting edge and seems to be the original full length. The blade is lightly spotted with surface rust and pitting. The scales aren’t warped and they aren't cracked, but they have minor wear. The blade fits snugly between the scales.
