Four volumes in two. Volume I features a fold-out frontispiece map. Volume I-II features 15 illustrated plates and volume III-IV features 4 plates. With several illustrations in the text of volume I. Thomas Bailey (1785–1856), was an English topographer and author. CONDITION In half calf bindings with cloth covered boards. Externally, sound with some rubbing to the extremities and fading to the boards. Marks to the rear board of volume III-IV. Spine label of volume I-II missing. Internally, firmly bound. Some foxing to the endpapers but otherwise generally clean with just a few scattered spots. Amateur repairs to two tears to the frontispiece map. Small tears to the fore-edge of the Colonel Hutchinson plate in volume IV. Ink signatures of Robert Jackson and J. W. Orchard to the front free endpapers.
