Above the image it is labelled in small print BELGIUM PLATE 226. The credit line below the image reads: London. Chromolithographed & Published by Day & Son, Lithographers to the Queen. J.B. Waring, direx. The print will be accompanied by a separate full sheet of text related to the lithograph, under the title, PARQUET FLOORING. The page gives a history of flooring, mentioning that Belgium was home to the worlds most outstanding makers of parquetry flooring, with the Godefroy firm of Brussels rivalling the skill of the Dekeyn Brothers company. Of the work shown in the lithograph, the text notes: The inlaid floors exhibited by Messrs. Dekeyn testify to the great efforts made by these celebrated manufacturers to maintain their works in the very high rank which they hold. . . . the material, execution, and the selection of the various woods are all that could be desired.
