Description: It is an authentic engraved antique map over 150 years old with original handcoloring as issued. It is by A. Le Bealle as stated in the bottom left margin and is from his Nouvel Atlas des Departements et des Communes, published in Paris, 1864, a copy of the title page is included. The description page is still connected to the map and folds out with text on the reverse also, which includes the key to the communes, see the pics. It is not matted nor framed being sold as seen in the pic. Overall, it is an interesting map in a format you don't commonly see, where the names of the towns are numbered with an index list. It also has a good description and hisotry of the department and the communes or towns in 1864. Size: The map image measures approximately 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches (17x24cm) on a 8 1/2 by 10 1/2 page (22x27cm) with a margin all around, as seen in the main pic. Condition: It is in Good condition for its age with overall light tonal ageing, very clean with a couple of light spots in the margin and some typical wear along the binding crease, see the pics for more on condition.
