Description: 1866 WITH RAYS SHIELD NICKEL PCGS MS 62 NICE STEELY GREY SURFACES WITH A DECENT STRIKE OVER BOTH SIDES. For the most part, well struck for the issue. Some central weakness, as often seen, on the upper right shield, but well defined periphery and a very nice reverse. Some crust has gathered amongst the devices. A strong and obvious Repunched Date, of which there are several, not sure which, The reverse is also rotated counter clockwise a few degrees. Scarce as a necessary Type, despite the combined output of "With Rays" Shield Nickels in 1866 and 1867 at 14,742,500 and 2,019,000, respectively.
