This comprehensive biography of Marie Antoinette includes A double-page Pedigree to illustrate the Period of this Work at the beginning of Volume I. Volume I also includes a Biographical Sketch of Madame Campan by F Barriere, and Notes on Conversations with Madame Campan by M Maigne. Each volume includes 8 full-page b/w plates. Half bound tan leather on marbled hardboards. Five raised bands with black title and number blocks, gilt lettering and gilt decoration on the spines. Small mark on the spine of Vol II. Marbled endpapers and gilt page top edges. Rough cut page edges. Title page in red and black lettering. Light foxing to plates and some pages. All pages are firm and the books are in very good condition. Vol I: lxxvi, 397 pages.
