Description: Democrat Stephen Grover Cleveland ran for president in 1884 with Thomas Hendricks and they won. But Hendricks died in office in November of 1885 so, when Grover ran for re-election in 1888, he chose Allan Thurman of Ohio. But they lost to republicans Benjamin Harrison and Levi Morton in the Electoral College. When Ben ran for re-election in 1892, he changed running mates, too, picking New York's Whitelaw Reid. Grover ran against him again, with Adlai Stevenson of Illinois, and they won. And that's why ol' Grover is both our 22nd and 24th president, our only non-consecutive, two-term president. Could it happen again in 2024? This 3.25" x 5 3/8" folding pamphlet was produced for Cleveland and Thurman in 1888 targeting the democrat working men, explaining just how awful republicans were. But it didn't work out that time for the democrats. It is in nice condition but please enlarge our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with it. Remember, this stuff's called ephemera, folks, since it was made to be used and then discarded. So we're just lucky to have things like this in any condition to add to our collections. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases which we do by giving you a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be $5.50 first class with tracking. 5678
