Description: Late nineteenth or turn of the century boudoir sized cabinet card photograph showing a large group of people assembled on the grass in front of a building that looks as though it might be a college building. There is nothing that identifies what the building is or where this image was taken. There are men and women in the photo. They are dressed in a style that seems to be from within a few years of 1900. On close examination of the image to see if there are any identifying clues to its origins I can see that two of the men seated near the front each hold something that is round in shape but I can't determine what either item is. They don't look to be the same item. Six of the men and women in the front right row hold onto what looks like a long strip of white cloth or a rope. The people in the group range in age from about college age to perhaps in the early sixties. Most may be college age. The cabinet card measures 8 inches by 5 inches. The back is blank. The matt shows some browning and one matt corner is chipped. The reference number for this item is # 4102.
