Description: This antique cooking and housekeeping book from the 1890s is a true gem for any collector or enthusiast of vintage literature. Titled "Mrs. Beeton's Every-Day Cookery and Housekeeping Book", this original piece was published by Ward, Lock, and Co. in 1890, and provides an extensive collection of timeless recipes and practical tips for home management. Features “New and Colored Plates, and full page and other engravings”. Condition: The book is in fair condition, but the cover is in poor condition. Cover has come completely loose, (the parts are there for possible restoration, see photos), but make no mistake about it, this book has experience heavy use and wear especially back years ago. Still features the charming cover design that adds to its overall appeal. There are some pages in the front including the title page that are either missing or folded and dogeared, but the majority of the rest of her book is intact. There are original recipes written in fountain or quill pen still included with the book, and could be some owner’s notes written here and there. Some of the front pages are flaking and chipping and will likely need to be preserved or restored. See photos. Admittedly, it’s not in the greatest of shape, but it’s still a unique collectible cookbook with handwritten recipes from the original owner so whether you're a lover of cooking or simply enjoy discovering historical artifacts, this book is a valuable addition to any collection.
