Description: Offered here is an original voucher dated 1894 by The Rio Grande Southern Railroad stating that the Coaches and Cars did not need Mineral Seal (a type of grease ?). The RGS RR was a narrow gauge Railroad which ran in the southwestern region of Colorado, from the towns of Durango to Ridgway, routed via Lizard Head Pass. Built by the Russian immigrant Otto Mears (road builder extraordinaire). the RGS operated from 1891 to 1951, and was built with the intent to transport immense amounts of silver mineral traffic that were being produced by the mining towns of Rico and Telluride. measures approx. 5.5" x 4.25".
