Written by Margaret Gabrielle Vere Long, under the pseudonym Marjorie Bowen, a British author who wrote historical romances and supernatural horror stories, as well as works of popular history and biography. CONDITION In the original cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. A small split in the cloth to the head of the rear joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages only. Age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
