Description: This is a pleasing & attractive 1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration badge / medal. This medal / badge is in the shape of a shield. The medal has the designer's name in tiny print by the obverse left bottom edge which appears to possibly be: "Bamrick" (but, we are not certain). The medal has very fine details in the design. We do not know what metal this is made of. But, the metal has assorted gray tones. The obverse of the medal shows busts of the historical figures Hudson & Fulton. There is wording along the obverse at the top "Hudson-Fulton Celebration" & wording at the bottom "Sept. 25-Oct. 9, 1909". The reverse has two sailing ships with the wording above the ships reading: "New York to Albany" & has the names of the ships below the ships below the ships reading: "Half Moon 1609 Clermont 1807". The medal / badge has a right to left diameter of 1 7/16 inches. The diameter from top to bottom of the medal counting the attached ring (but not counting the ribbon) is 1 13/16 inches. The complete badge with the ribbon measures 3 1/8" long. The ribbon still retains the original pin on the back. This medal / badge is in pleasing & lightly worn condition & has some age toning. The condition of the medal is EX. The red, white, & blue ribbon shows some fading, some light soiling, some wear, & two 1/2 inch long tears. A recent find from an early New Jersey estate where it had resided for 110 years since it was issued in 1909.
