Description: Nice schoolhouse or industrial white light fixture. It dates from the 1910's - 1920's. The fixture takes a standard single bulb. The glass globe is opaque milk glass. This is from the estate of an 1890 historic McKinney, Texas home. The home owner had a large collection of period lighting for his renovation needs. Untested. Socket looks fine to me, but clearly aged. Please note I am not an electrician and I recommend you have a professional determine if new socket required. Condition: Glass shade in excellent condition. Metal flush mount is in fair condition, with mentionable issues isolated to surface issues: inconsistent patination, paint drips, and light corrosion. Screw holding shade in place present, but no mounting hardware to affix the flush mount to the ceiling. Glass globe has the usual chips around the fitter (which is quite common, given the frequency of handling to change light bulbs). Fitter chips are not visible when the glass globe is installed. Body free from chips, flakes, flea bites, breaks, cracks, pits or other mentionable issues. Dimensions: Total combined length is 13.5". Diameter at widest point is 10". Main glass body is 8.5" tall without metal canopy. Fitter has a 5.75" diameter as measured from outside. Fitter neck (narrowest part) is 5" as measured from inside. Metal canopy is 5" long. Flush mount (both ends) has a 6.25" diameter. Unpacked weight: 2 lbs. 3 oz. Note: I realize shipping may appear somewhat costly on this item, I refund the difference between actual shipping costs and what EBAY's calculator comes up with (if in your favor and significantly different than estimate). If I goof on my shipping estimate, I eat the overage. My experience with these heavy weight & large size items, I almost always end up refunding 30% - 50% of the shipping charge. Will pack and provide actual estimate for serious inquiries. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description. The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase. Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
