Description: First edition of this profusely illustrated two-volume work on the historical monuments in Buckinghamshire, Vol 1 covering the southern part of the county, Vol. 2 covering the northern part. In the original grey cloth with lettering and decoration in black. Externally, both volumes remain sound and firm, boards lightly rubbed with a little wear to extremities, bumping to corners, several small indentations to rear board of Vol. 2. Spines a little darkened with crumpling at ends. Internally, both volumes remain firm, pages lightly age-toned otherwise generally clean and tidy throughout. Repaired tear to folding map in Vol. 1.
