Description: The recipient was Edward Mansel Townshend (1860-1947) was Clerical Chaplin to Dr Barnado's Homes in 1892 and the Curacy of Canon Gibson's old Church in Harrogate 1894. He was appointed Rector of the parish of St Mapley's, Llanvapley, near Abergavenny on 31 October 1898. and remained there until his death in 1947. He was a prolific writer of letters. In exact condition shown in photographs, which are provided as best description.
