I was fortunate enough to have been able to purchase a collection of antique and vintage textiles from the family of a woman who was dealing in antique textiles in New York in the 1920's. In this collections were some clothing pieces, each tagged as Greek. As she was dealing in the 1920's in vintage clothing ( so cool! ) I put this in to the early 1900's , but that is only my speculations. This textile is part of that collection! it's a fascinating collection, I feel so lucky to have been offered it! ~*~ Please see below for item specifics ~*~ ( to view the others in the collection just search my store for the word Greek ! ~*~ Item specifics : This lovely textile is made of a light weight rayon. I found a bolt of fabric in this collection with the same fabric and I was able to do a burn test to establish fiber content! Rayon was invented in 1883 and was used widely throughout Europe in the early 1900's ~ The embroidery is all hand worked! A lovely textile ideal for collecting, inspiration or wearing!!! It's very important to read condition details below! These pants are also embroidered with a very thin line on the seams, it's incredible! ~ Measurements approximately : The waist as is is 36 inches around. ( please see condition below) Length :35 inches Inseam: 28inches Hips: about 46 inches CONDITION : These pants are in as found, not freshly laundered condition. They are damaged. There is uneven fading. The waist used elastic I imagine and it's completely brittle so must be replaced. There are some ink stains too.
