Description: 1927 United Confederate Veterans 37th UCV Reunion Badge Medal Tampa, FL featuring Florida's own famous Civil War General Edmund Kirby Smith. Every state has two statues in the U.S. Capitol Building. One of the statues for Florida was Edmund Kirby Smith until, well, you know. Anything related to Florida in the Civil War is hard to find to nonexistent. I paid $2,300 for a single uniform button confirmed to be from a Florida Confederate soldier! One of my grandfathers fought with General Edmund Kirby Smith as a member of Company A, 7th Florida Infantry Regiment, during the invasion of Kentucky and capture of the capitol at Frankfort, KY. The only reason I am selling this badge is because I happen to have TWO! My Confederate grandfather was alive in 1922 and possibly still alive in 1927 at 82 years old. I imagine him there at this Tampa reunion wearing one of these badges. This is a beautiful specimen of this reunion badge with good color and rich patina. One sold here on ebay 14 JUL 2021 for $350.
