Description: 1933 Zeenut "Sepia" (PCL) -LUIS ALMADA (Mission Bells) -1st Mexican Signed by Major Leagues. Lou Almada is the older brother of Melo Almada who was the 1st Mexican American in Major Leagues in 1933, but in fact Lou had been signed and was intended to play for New York Giants but got injured during batting practice from a line drive by Freddie Lindstrom and never made a start for them. A lot of Corner & Edge wear. The Zeenut series was produced every year by the Collins Candy Co from 1911 to 1938, each set contained somewhere between 48 to nearly 200 cards and includes many players that were both future or former Major League players. The 1933 "Sepia" set was only made for a single year and looks like the 1933-36 Zeenut series but the front images are distinctly "SEPIA" or brown in color (not Black & White like the 1933-36 series) Please see scans for condition. Please be sure to ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing. All items I sell are guaranteed authentic!
