Twelve airplanes of the U.S. Navy Patrol Squadron Six made the First Flight from San Diego to Hawaii. Lt. Crd. Wm. M. McDade was the Squadron Commander and his Squadron flew through the famous "Wall of Rain" on this flight.Approximately 300 covers were carried.3c postage affixed. American Air Mail Catalogue says some covers are cancelled on the 27th because there was a 1 day delay for the flight. Nice typed writeup enclosed with auction.
