Orwell was distinctly critical of Stalin, the political undertones of this novella leading it to be rejected by a number of publishers, including one of Orwell's own. CONDITION In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. A couple of light marks to the boards. Minor bumping to the spine and extremities. Academy stamp to the recto to the front endpaper. Dust wrapper is edge worn with some small chips, and five tape repairs to the reverse. Light marks to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
