Description: This is for an original 1948 Bowman #7 rookie card of Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren which has been encapsulated and graded NM 7 by BVG. Van Buren is one of the greatest players in history as he is a member of the LSU Hall of Fame, Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame along with the NFL Hall of Fame. He would become the second NFL player to rush for over 1,000 yards when he would rush for 1008 yards in 1947, breaking the mark of 1004 set by Beattie Feathers in 1934. Steve would become a 2 time World Champion with the Eagles in 1948 and 1949 along with leading the NFL 4 times in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Steve is also a 5 time All Pro along with being a member of the NFL’s 75th Anniversary All Time team and NFL’s 100th Anniversary All Time team. Philadelphia has retired his number and no Eagle will ever wear the number 15 again. This card is a real beauty with nice corners and centering. It belongs in a PSA or SGC holder as the baggie BVG uses does no justice to the card. The PSA numbers for this card in PSA 7 is 400.00, 7.5 600.00 and PSA 8 875.00. The PSA pop report on this card is 43 in PSA 7, 24 in PSA 8 and only 1 in PSA 9. Just looking at the numbers tells you the rarity of this rookie card in high grade condition. A must have for any Eagles fan or someone working on a high end 1948 Bowman set. For accuracies sake the holder has a slight scratch on the top of the case just above the flip.
