Cleveland: Harold Russell, who lost his hands in June 1944 when a defective fuse exploded, shows 4-year-old Tommy Herbert, of Cleveland, how to produce a tune out of a music box with his hooks that became nationally famous in "The Best Years of Our Lives." Tommy, who attends nursery school and is interested in football and mechanical toys, also does well without hands. They were severed by a switch engine. Russell was in Cleveland as National Commander of AMVETS. Photo measures 8 x 6.25 inches. Photo Is dated 1949.
