1950 ADVERTISING MAP of Route 27 -- Lexington, Kentucky to Tallahassee, Florida

Description: Measuring about 25" x 19", and folding down to about 4-1/2" x 9-1/2", this two-sided map, titled "U. S. 27 - Lexington, Kentucky, to Tallahassee, Florida", is dated 1950 and published in Columbus, Georgia, by Highway Map Publishing Co. One side has a map of the United States, with the Route 27 corridor highlighted in red from northern Michigan all the way down to Miami. The other side is broken into four separate maps, Triptik style, each one showing a different section of Route 27, flanked with advertisements from hotels, motels, gas stations and other commercial enterprises along the way. The four sections, starting at the upper left, are: -- Lexington, Kentucky, to Harriman, Tennessee-- Harriman, Tennessee, to Rome, Georgia-- Rome to Columbus, Georgia-- Columbus, Georgia, to Tallahassee, Florida It has a "Compliments of..." box in the lower right corner, which bears the stamp of one of the advetisers, Arnold Jones Service Station on Route 27 in Sunbright, Tennessee. It is in used and worn condition, with some mis-folds, some slitting along the folds, and typical light surface rubbing and edge wear. It will be shipped folded along existing fold lines.
