Description: 1950 Singer 221- 1 sewing machine, commonly known as the Featherweight. A favorite among quilters because of its portability and the straight stitch. Manufactured January 23, 1950 with serial # AJ377711. This machine is in wonderful condition, with slight wear from normal usage - see pictures. It has been cleaned, inspected and serviced. The rubber feet have been replaced and a new LED bulb was installed. It runs strong and quiet. Ready for another 75 years of sewing. It has a Type IV case with a key and it is great condition. Strong snap to the latches. There is no odor to the case, appears to have been stored in a dry, smoke free environment. The foot pedal #194584 has a new plug end.It has an original Singer bobbin case #45750, 5 bobbins and the Singer manual.
