Case is functional however needs so work. Quality American made violin by Ulric E. Charpentier (1872-1960). He made about 100 violins between 1923 and 1960, but his actual trade was an overseer in the spinning department of a nearby textile mill. There are signs of a highly skilled, although older craftsman. The fluted f-holes, fine selection of tone wood and very nicely carved scroll all say, this is a very fine handmade American violin.
