Description: ©1952 THE OLD MAN & THE SEA BY ERNEST HEMINGWAY HB STUDY GUIDE NOBEL PRIZE 1954 It didn't take this book long to become one that everyone wanted to read and even many students were required to read in school. It still remains a classic and collected book that everyone should have in their collection, especially if you are a collector of the Nobel Prize for Literature, as this did in 1954. It's sad that it was the last of his own books that Hemingway saw published. This particular edition is very special and hard to find. It's unique because it has a special study and discussion section. The language may be a bit simplistic, but the meaning and the discussions that take place because of it are rich.It is a story of human courage and triumph, even in defeat, for the main character. Santiago, an old Cuban fisherman, finds this journey trying to catch a marlin. This book has definitely been read but also treasured. Its binding is still good and all pages are intact.Although this book is in used condition with some normal bookwear for its age, it's still a genuine gem. The cover does appear slightly greener than our pictures show. Since it's one that was used for a discussion and study guide, with questions like those at the end, there are some things that are underlined and a few notes made in pencil. They may be able to be erased, but we didn't try. It's also missing its dust cover. Be sure to see our pictures. BEFORE PACKING this special book so it makes it safely from us to you, it is approximately 7.25" tall, 5" wide, 1" deep, and weighs about 10 ounces.
