Description: This is the first year Redman Tobacco produced trading cards. They were the only company to do so after 1920. Redman produced trading cards from 1952 to 1955. Considering this Mays' card is in the 1st year Redman produced these cards, and in addition to it being the year of Mays' first "Topps" produced card, it is highly valuable. While the card is considered to be more valuable with the tab, the Pop Report with all grading companies is significantly lower with the cards that no longer have the tabs. 47 are psa graded with no tabs compared to 202 with. Lastly, SGC in some instances, did not grade cards that were handout hence the grade of authentic. This card is in incredible condition and it is in my opinion that this card could receive a decent grade from PSA. My guess would be between and PSA 4 and 5. Please note that the black dot next to his left ear(right side) is not a pin hole. If this card graded in the range I indicated, there would only be 4 to 9 graded higher. Please see images.
