Description: 1953 Topps #29 Hal Jeffcoat Chicago Cubs Mid-level EX B53#29A1 This card is a mid-level 1953 Hal Jeffcoat card with decent corners, straight edges and nicely centered. Decent corners Nicely centered Clean back Vintage ‘53 Jeffcoat had the rare distinction of combining his time in the major leagues between playing outfield and pitching. He actually did both in the same season for only 4 games. He signed with the Cubs in ‘46 and played eight years with them, mostly as an outfielder and then as a pitcher for a couple of seasons. Later, with Cincinnati and St Louis, Jeffcoat was strictly a pitcher. He finished with a lifetime batting mark of .241. As a pitcher, over a six year period, his won lost record lifetime was 39-37. He left the game in 1960 after 17 games in the minors. ‘59 was his last full year in the majors.
