Description: Circa mid 1950's, this article features the then upcoming Jazz singer Jeri Southern (1926-1991). Written by Dick Williams, Los Angeles Mirror Entertainment reporter (and well-known ELVIS critic!) for his "Showcase" column, he was clearly "jazzed"...(pun intended)... over this new talent!! Williams brags a bit about his previous "discoveries" Doris Day, Kay Starr and Dorothy Dandridge, sure that Miss Southern would follow in their footsteps. Having listened to her records for a couple years, he saw her in person performing at the Tiffany Club, a jazz club on 7th Street in Hollywood. Photos included in the news article include that performance, along with an informal photo of her playing piano at her beach-side home and reading with her daughter...(she was married at the time to Ray Hutchinson, free-lance radio announcer and DJ). Plaque measures 14" x 18" x 3/4" and is ready for hanging! What a rare find and an amazing gift for a Jeri Southern fan!! GOOD LUCK AND PLEASE CHECK OUT GOODEYE'S OTHER COOLBUYS!
