Description: Two large-format 1958 commercial maps of Texas, printed more than 65 years ago. Each map measures a generous 20½" x 27½" and is drawn on a scale of 1:1,580,000, or about 25 miles to one inch. The northern section is printed on one sheet and covers the area between the Oklahoma border and Austin. The southern section is printed on the other sheet and extends from Waco to the Rio Grande and the Gulf of Mexico. Each map labels railroads, counties, cities, towns, and natural features, with a place-name index in the left margin. The maps were published in the 89th edition of the Rand McNally Commercial Atlas and Marketing Guide, Chicago, 1958. They are lithographed in color on a heavyweight paper, specially treated to allow the use of map-marking pencils. Condition: Both are in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with a vertical center fold, as issued, and no rips, tears, or writing. There's minor wear along the left edge of the map of the southern section. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
