Description: 1960s Pittsburgh Pirates Cooperstown Ball Cap Company Wool Hat Size 7 3/8 - 7 1/2 - Vintage This is a pre-owned Cooperstown Ballcap Company 1960s era Pittsburgh Pirates cap. This cap was designed to replicate the era. The cap is made of wool and includes a leather sweatband. The leather sweatband shows some wear, particularly the front left where there is some small pieces missing (see photos). This type of cap is not like a New Era one. It is not stiff and it collapses when set down. Again, the material is wool and the inside is not (and was not in the 1960s) stabilized like the way caps are today. I believe this cap was initially a 7 3/8 size, but it is possible to fit someone (like me now) with the size 7 1/2. When I say "fit," the cap will go over your head but may not be as loose as one would like. The "P" on the cap is not raised like the caps of today. It is stitched and flat. This cap was made and purchased in the late 1990s by Cooperstown Ballcap Company and has rarely been worn the past 10 years.
