1962 Marhoefer Meats Racing Bob Christie Card, Eight Indianapolis 500 Starts

Description: The rare 1962 card from the "carbking" collection has light wear and very light staining on the back of the card. There is also staining on the front of the card as seen in the photos. The card measures roughly 5.25" x 4". Please review the pictures to assist with the condition and content of the card. The Marhoefer Meatpacking Company was founded in 1901 as the Kuhner Packing Company. The Marhoefer family would take over in 1945. Based in Muncie, Indiana, the company would aggressively advertise their sausages and hot dogs in conjunction with the local Indianapolis 500. These cards were produced as part of the packaging for their products. The staining seen on Marhoefer cards is not unusual. This unnumbered card from the 16 card 1962 Marhoefer set features Bob Christie. Christie would make eight starts in the Indianapolis 500 with a best finish of 10th in 1960. His best finish in the Championship Series was a third place finish on the 2.5 mile, newly opened, Daytona International Speedway in 1959.
