You are purchasing an ORIGINAL 1965 "A&BC" Civil War News - "Currency $1 - Serial #3691." (Note: the Topps series of these currencies have "blueish backs" where the English, A&BC (1965) version have "black backs.") I consider this currency item to be in fair condition. (However, I am NOT a grader of cards - just a non-sports collector of vintage pre-1970 cards!) These currencies were offered one per pack of 5 Civil War News cards. Each bill WAS folded in it's center to fit nicely in the pack. So, subsequently ALL currencies have a crease or fold in them. There were a total of 17 different currency bills offered in denominations from $1.00 to $1000. These currencies are getting harder and harder to locate in any condition. These 1962 Topps Civil War News, currencies are also highly collectible and very sought after mid 20th century non-sports card items. This currency will make a great addition for your set building, or an excellent starter card if you are starting your 1962 Topps "Civil War News Currency" collection! I have been collecting the classic U.S.A. Topps series cards since their release in the spring of 1962. They are a great source of entertainment and a look back at the hype and impact of the "Cold War" had on the United States during the mid 20th century.
