Widely regarded among the greatest managers of all-time, Sir Alex has won more trophies than any other manager, mostly with Manchester United, who he managed for nearly three decades from 1986 to 2013. As a player, he saw his first matches with Queen's Park in 1957, followed by stints with several other teams in the Scottish Premiership. He was the top goal scorer in the Scottish league for the 1965-66 season while playing with Dunfermline Athletic, and it's surprising he wasn't included in an earlier set than the 1967-68 A & BC Scottish series. So rare is this set, however, that many collectors often misidentify his 1969 Crinkle Cut issue (or Deckle Edge) and even his 1971 A & BC card as his first cardboard appearance.
