There are inset plans of Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, Fresno, San Francisco, and Yosemite National Park. The map was distributed by the Shell Oil Company in 1968 and is dated in the legend. The photograph on the front cover shows a view along the Redwood Highway north of Fort Bragg.
