Description: This recent find comes from Estate of Retired NASA MSFC Aerospace Engineer that was part of ABMA and NASA working with Wernher von Braun on the pioneering Rocket Team. Mr. Thomson was ultimately responsible for the development of the H1/F1/J2 Rocket Engines for the SATURN/APOLLO missions, He also headed team that worked on and solved the POGO EFFECT and eventually put in charge of the Shuttle "SSME" Design/Development in 1968-69. Lastly from 1971-86 he served as Chief Engineer for the Space Shuttle Main Engines. This listing is for an Authentic WERNHER VON BRAUN SIGNED hand typed letter to Mr. Jerry Thomson (Sent to his home address) inviting him to attend the Apollo 12 Launch in recognition for his work as a member of the Saturn-Apollo Team. Letter is on onionskin paper that is watermarked "COMMERCE DOCUMENT RAG CONTENT" and is in Excellent overall condition with very minor storage wear and creases from originally being folded for an envelope and on bottom left corner. Badge is in Very Good overall condition for use and age with some wear. Letter is 8"W x 10.5"L.
