Description: 1972 Omega Genève Ref.166.0169 Automatic Cal.1022 Day/Date Watch - Needs Service Please read before buying: This watch winds & runs however does need a little bit of TLC. There’s an issue with the day wheel which doesn’t switch over when time passes and winding the watch in general feels rough. When tested over 24 hours it lost around 2 minutes so it would even fit from a service. About the watch & condition: Here we have a stunning Omega Genève with an automatic Cal.1022 movement. It’s a great looking watch and sits nicely on the wrist. As mentioned it would benefit from a service but soon as it’s done it’ll make a nice daily watch. More details below: The watch has a lovely silver dial with a day/date complication located at the 3 o’clock. The dial is nice & clean overall, it has a slight patina and a few little specs but nothing major. The crystal isn’t the original Omega one however is in great shape and gives you a nice view of the dial. With a polish it would come up ever better. The watch has a nice gold plated case that looks great. It does have some general wear with some light scratches and wear around the lugs but nothing you wouldn’t expect of a watch this age. It looks great on the wrist as shown, superb looking watch. The crown on this watch is an Omega crown however isn’t the original crown for this watch. It’s stainless steel as shown so will likely want swapping out for a gold plated Omega crown. It does wind however feels slightly rough, the quickset date complication works fine and the day can be switched by moving the hands backwards. The watch is sat on a standard brown leather strap which will fit a wrist sized 8 1/4 inches. There’s some signs of general wear but it does suit the watch nicely. Could easily be changed if you wanted to freshen it up. This is an automatic watch meaning it runs off the movement of your wrist. The watch has a small power reserve however if left for a period of time it will have likely stopped. This is just for the watch, there’s no box or paperwork but this is quite common for vintage watches.
