All are busy with their own affairs: the pancake (the buttery brother) cooks food, the sparrow (the winged brother) gets forest provisions (mushrooms and berries). The task of the third (the furry mouse) is to chop wood and heat the stove. One day the brothers thought: "Why not swap chores?" In vain did they swap responsibilities - they were all left hungry for the whole day in an unheated hut. The sparrow did not do the mouse's business, the mouse did the sparrow's, and the pancake almost became prey to the fox.
