Description: Excellent condition, 1977 (7 dot tang stamp), Case 450045R Scout pattern pocket knife. This knife is used, but well cared for during its history. The main blade exhibits light overall scratching consistent with a Scout or camper knife that was sharpened and used. This can easily be returned to Case for Spa warranty treatment, but is a perfect knife for daily carry as is and one to be proud of. This knife has been thoroughly cleaned, oiled, the blades and tools hand polished, and the full bodied spear point main blade sharpened. The jigged Delrin scales are beautiful. The bottom center brass pin was placed close to the lower scale edge. I can see a line which is more of a stress in the Delrin with no separation- it cannot be seen from the side and is not an issue structurally whatsoever. It needs nothing but to put it in your pocket. Blade snap remains crisp on all tools with no wobble. The spear point blade has less snap in my opinion, but is still well defined and crisp. The bail is straight and in good condition. I purchased this as a daily carry knife only to find an excellent 1970 version, which was the year l obtained my Eagle Scout rank. This knife is realistically priced with no disappointments. Case did not make the 450045R Scout pattern knife in-house, but contracted this knife to Camillus, whose quality is legendary. I ship USPS Priority Mail for $11.20, basically a few pennies more than the in-person post office small box price. I carefully pack my items with pride- it will get to you as advertised. This week l received a 4.9 shipping price rating which is totally unwarranted- the first since 1999 without complaint. If you want to ship in a less expensive manner- just let me know.
