Among the most unique designs to emerge from the “stone logo” era of Fernandes production (1977-81), the rare V-7 Art Wave (a nod to the burgeoning new wave genre) was only produced from 1980-81, featuring an angular, eye-catching body, Mustang-style vibrato, and a pair of Mosrite-meets-Jazzmaster single coil pickups. The V-7 Art Wave is perhaps best associated with Japanese guitarist Susumu Hirasawa of P-MODEL, who was often seen onstage with this guitar throughout the early ‘80s. Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, and this V-7 weighs 7lbs 6oz. The VP-79 single coils have a rich midrange character with great spank and jangle.
