Description: 1980 Yamaha SG2000 Santana Designed Guitar with OHSC, Spinex Pickups, Neck Through Construction, Push/Push Coil Taps Santana fans, feast your eyes! We have a unique and rare guitar to share with you today. This Yamaha SG2000 was developed with the input of none other than the legendary riff slinger extraordinaire, Carlos Santana. The tones that this guitar puts out can be heard on his landmark record “Moonflower”.The Neck through construction, mahogany body, and brass sustain plate under the bridge were all items that Carlos insisted on for increased sustain and tone. This model sports a Tobacco Burst finish, push/push coil tap switches, and the unique Yamaha pearl thumbnail inlays. This instrument is in great condition. The neck is dead straight, and it plays fantastically at low action. The brass hardware has a bit of pitting, and there’s a touch of clouding under the finish; those things tend to be very common on these vintage Yamahas. The pickguard has also been lost to time. We think it looks better without it, anyway. It’s been professionally set up with new strings set to play low and fast. It’s had the fretboard conditioned, the frets polished, and the electronics cleaned.
