Description: Virtually stock, beautiful, and in fantastic overall shape! Featuring Specialized’s Prestige Cro-Mo Tange tubing, this was, in its day, as the catalog said, a “…pro-level racing bike”. As near as I can tell, the only thing not stock on this beauty is the fork (and probably the inner tubes), a vintage Specialized upgrade from probably the next model year. Fork doesn’t really rebound anymore. Not sure if that’s repairable or not. 21 speed, triple chainring drivetrain. Selle Italia saddle, Deore XT shifters/derailleurs, XT brakes, XT drivetrain (with sweet ceramic bearings), XT hubs, XT pedals/toe cages, water bottle cage- original! Specialized rims with double butted spokes, Specialized Ground Control Extreme tires, Specialized heat treated handlebar, stem, seat post, quick releases- original! Pretty sure even the chain and cables/housings are stock. From the looks of it, this bike saw little if any singletrack. There’s a bit of just surface level rust here and there but nothing to write home about. Scratches and dings are appropriate for a 34 year old bike. I’m pretty sure this would’ve been sold as an 18” when new. Depending on how Specialized measured the frame for sizing (center BB to top of seat tube vs to top tube), though, it could be a 19”.
