19th C. Miniature Portrait Painting, Carved Wood Frame (#5)

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely 19th Century portrait of a maiden painted on porcelain framed in a carved oval wood frame. The quality of the painting is excellent with fine details in the painting. The frame is nicely carved with scrolling around the inside concave border with a scalloped or ribbon cut outer border. Frame measures 4 1/2" long (North to South) and 4" wide (East to West) with the portrait site measuring 2 3/8" long (North to South) and 1 3/4" wide (East to West). Weighs 2.5 ounces. This nice framed portrait is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws to the porcelain surface although the frame does reflect minor signs of normal wear. There is no hanging ring attached so the frame must sit on a small easel or there must be an attachment made for hanging. There are two very small holes on the bottom edge of the frame where there may have been tiny gold ball feet attached with an easel back. Please view all photos as part of description.
